Childhood
She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California to a pair of Taiwanese immigrant parents. Hailing from the San Gabriel Valley (shout out 626), her standards for Asian cuisine are sky high. She has two older sisters who she has learned life’s greatest lessons from and who have been the purpose of many of her travels and food adventures.
Education
She attended high school in southern California and continued on to higher education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO (go rams!). She graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and plans to pursue a graduate degree in Computer Science in the near future.
Professional Life
She has held a number of jobs throughout her life. Her first job ever was as a hostess at popular seafood chain Red Lobster. From there, she made smoothies and acai bowls at Nekter, and even worked the front desk at a beach front hotel in Hermosa Beach. Ultimately, she has settled into a full-time career with a major aerospace defense company working as a systems engineer.
Travels
Since she was the youngest of three, her parents were well past the time in their lives where they WANTED to be raising kids… they were ready for an empty nest. That meant that they took her along on many of their travels while she was young. She has been fortunate enough to experience 22+ European countries along with Taiwan, China, Japan, Thailand, Russia, Turkey, Chile, and Mexico. She intends to revisit the countries she remembers most fondly to create lasting memories with him.
Hobbies
She has been a competitive soccer player since she could walk. She also loves volleyball and softball. She is a loyal Los Angeles Dodgers fan and will throw hands with anyone that believes baseball is a boring sport. She is passionate about snowboarding and has been fortunate enough to travel along with her oldest sister on a number of snowboarding expeditions.
Favorite Foods
She is a big fan of any and all types of noodles! Specifically, spicy miso ramen and Taiwanese beef noodle soup. She is also a lover of dumplings (yes, very stereotypical). Additionally, she loves a medium-rare steak and believes that every meal should include at least one vegetable. As far as desserts- she’s a chocolate girl through and through. Fudgey brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream are her love language… or maybe it’s chocolate lava cake… or maybe 7-layer chocolate cake.
Least Favorite Foods
She’s pretty open to trying anything, but she’s not a huge fan of natto. She also won’t eat anything that is still alive when being eaten… something about something in her mouth still moving on its own wigs her out.
Personality Type
INTJ-A (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging – Assertive)
She is a self-defined control freak whose idea of a fun Friday night is planning an hour-by-hour itinerary for their next trip. Just kidding (sort of), she does like to have fun sometimes. And contrary to popular belief, she does actually have some friends. She has high hopes for her career and is extremely goal-oriented.
